You should be able to do just the map updates as it is on a different part of the system. The system updates should be separate to map updates. I could be wrong though

Re: ***NEW MyGIG Software Update RER-REW-REP 2.404***

The Navigation maps and firmware are totally separate.
Have you received your disks from Navigation Updates yet?

I did not think that they came with the firmware updates.

As far as I have heard, adding 2.404 will negate your Sirius Traffic.
If it is working with 2.403, I would not update the firmware until
Chrysler fixes this issue. They are aware of it.

Re: ***NEW MyGIG Software Update RER-REW-REP 2.404***

The RER Map Updates just arrived, and indeed the V2.404 software update was included.
I called NAVTEQ support. They claim that they have had no customers reporting issues of losing Sirius Traffic since they have been shipping the 2.404 software update.
I then called Sirius tech support. An "Account Specialist" said that there should not be a problem updating to 2.404. The radio traffic service may need to be refreshed after applying the update. In worst case, I can revert back to 2.403.
BTW, NAVTEQ also said that V2.404 is definitely a prerequisite for the new maps to function properly.

That's good to know. I have 2.404 installed already and planned to get the newest maps later this year. I don't use Sirius anyway so that isn't a concern.
Still have to re-burn the latest Gracenotes to a new dvd. My unit would not read the last one that I burned earlier.

Why doesn't everyone just upgrade to the Mygig RHR? It is SOOOO much better than the RER. I had the RER and now the RHR and it's leaps and bounds better. Just saying

Re: ***NEW MyGIG Software Update RER-REW-REP 2.404***

Installed the 2.404 update and verified that my Sirius Traffic appeared to still be working.
Then installed the RER 2014 Map Updates. Again verified that everything seemed to be working including Sirius Traffic. (Just had to pair up my phone with the radio again).
If anything odd pops up in the near future, I will report back.

That's great. The only issue I had when I updated to 2.404 was having to re- pair my phone too. As far as going to the RHR unit, as I have not heard of how to easily move all the songs and pictures that I have on the RER over to a new head, and as I haven't heard of anyone doing it in a Sebring (I am a cross- cultural member as this site is the best I have ever found for MYGIG support) I am not sure if the Sebring (low speed bus) would work with an RHR.

And lots of money lol
I looked on Ebay at some units and they are quite expensive. Well over $1000. For a plug and play one that is fully current software wise. Funny how the low speed one costs so much more than the high speed.
Saw a couple of used ones as is, probably out of date software and firmware, for $500 - $800.

As long as my RER keeps working, I'll keep it and save my money up for the future.

Haha I got my RHR for $689 on EBay. Gotta keep looking bro. The Bluetooth streaming and other features on the RHR are so much better.

If I updated to the rhr from the rer would it be simple plug and play? Or would I need other parts? Also would I run into problem updating the maps since they are vin specific?
