Replacing stock REC

Well it looks like I will have to be replacing my REC unit now... the display has been randomly shutting off on me and turning back on 10 mins or so later. It is going to be taken back to the dealership next week to see if there is anything they can do for me. But if they for some reason can't, what would be some good options for me? That MyGig looks pretty nice but I am not sure if it would work in my 2005 without major modding. I would like to keep it stock as much as I can. It just seems that for the same price as I would pay to replace the stock REC I could get a newer MyGig unit. Any thoughts?
