As for the 2 vs. 3=ways, depends if you have a built in amp with crossovers of if each speaker is getting full range of sound. If it's the latter, the 3-ways are worth it. If it's the former, stick with the 2-ways more than likely.

Oops didn't even notice I was on wk, but as for the amp, I have a factory built in amp w/ crossovers apparently. I used quick connects on the back, and the fronts I have spliced.
1. Doesn't installing the aftermarket head unit bypass the amp and all that?
2. I have a 4-channel MP-350 that I plan on eventually hooking up to speakers and getting rid of my bulky 15" kicker comp vr or downsizing to 8's, but I think amp to speakers is beyond my capabilities and will have to bite the bullet and have it professionally done. So, with that said, in your opinion 2 or 3 way?

Installing a new headunit doesn't bypass the amplifier unless you ran all new cables from the new unit directly to the speakers. The wiring from the stock harness should go to the amp and then to the speakers. Your amp is probably located behind a panel or under a seat somewhere. Installing an aftermarket amp into your your vehicle to boost the signal should eliminate the issue with the crossover. The crossovers in the stock Infinity/BA systems are built into the amps, not the headunits. Also, amp to speakers is cake, especially since all the wiring should already be there except for a new power and ground for the aftermarket amp (as long as it fits in the stock location or nearby). In that case, if you can delete the crossover, 3 way for sure.

Re: Stock Speaker Upgrade

Well I did hook up my sub, deck and put in new speakers myself so it couldnt be too much trouble. Are there adapters i can clip onto the factory harness going to the amp?
But you are saying that my speakers are still currently running through the amp?
I went out on a limb and got the BA SE95's as the SE953's wouldn't fit with the spacers needed to clear the window apparently. Hopefully, I wont be disappointed like I was with the Type E.
Thanks for your help! Much appreciated

If I remember correctly, METRA makes some harnesses for the amplifier replacements, not sure if they do for the WJ though. Also, Type E's aren't even on the same scale as the BA SE's. BA's provide full sound and no tinny hints. Alpines (even the R's and S's) are pretty tinny IMHO, although if you're in it purely for volume, they handle a lot of power. Alpine should stick to subs, amps, and headunits, which they're good at (which is why I have a Type R sub...).

Would this be what I'm looking for?
http://www.metraonline.com/part/70-1818
Well I am glad to hear that about the BA's!! Just hoping to get a bit more lows out of them so taking my sub out won't be so hard to adapt to. As well as the fact that the Type E was only at a quiet garbled rumble when the infinity 6032's in the back were at normal listening volume w/ an impressive clean and crisp sound.
The amp I'm eventually putting in will be an Alpine 4-channel MP-350, when the time comes I think I'll need to start a new thread!

Looks about right as long as you used their vehicle finder to make sure it fits. Should be pretty straight forward in terms of install.

That harness will work for replacing the stock radio with an aftermarket unit and keeping the infinity amplifier functioning.

You can make a metra harness for an Isuzu work with helping the wiring @ the factory amp if you do an amp bypass, but you're colors wont be the same and you'll have to either de-pin the harness and repin the harness so it all makes sense or you'll give yourself one hell of a headache.

Metra 72-6514 Quick Connect Harnesses, $6.99, http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...a-72-6514.html

(you should rep me for all that work )

Note that I paid $241.72 shipped from sonicelectronics (after some PM's) and that included 3 of the quick connect Metra harnesses (only used 2 though because the front tweeter connections don't work, had to hard wire those).
Thank you ! I ordered the Boston Accoustic SC95 6x9 for the doors, but didn't really think about a quick connect wiring harness until I read your post. You provided the part number and everything. I just ordered the harness and I understand now how easy it's going to be, as apposed to cutting the door wires?? Puke !

So, kudo's to you my friend and thanks for helping out. Also ordered the plastic pry tool.

I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but the quick connect harnesses only work for the doors. The front tweeters need to be spliced in (as if that's difficult). I even went to the local BB to see if they had a connector to match, and they didn't. I went the easy route and just crimped in the butt end splices that come with the speakers as opposed to soldering. Many months later, and they're still performing 100% !

Edit: upon re-reading your post (I'm retarded), you only ordered door speakers, so you should be a-ok!
