Sub install price?

Just curious what you guys think, i'm looking to get a 12 inch subwoofer (probably alpine) with a box and amp. I was quoted 600 for all the parts and the install. Does this sound like a fair price? Thanks in advance

Wow thats alot.... What parts are you getting? My personal recommendation would be to go to a 10 in sub as the bass is tighter and cleaner and not as boomy.

Yeah a 10 is gonna have cleaner tighter bass. Your mid bass is gonna sound better and it's gonna be a more balanced setup. If you get a expensive one like your thinking of a ten is gonna give you almost the same amount of power as a 12. I have a 10 in my jeep and it sounds nice.

JeepSubs1.jpgI found using 2 decent 8" subs in a sealed box fit and sounded the best. I tried one 10" as well as one 12" and the most practical setup was the dual 8s.
