Subs staying at a constant sound level

I recently got 2 12' kickers and a boss audio amp and installed them into my 06 grand Cherokee with the factory Boston acoustics system. I had to use a line output converter to hook them up to my stock head unit for now since i can't afford a new one currently but it seems whenever the subs come on they are always at the same level of output no matter where the volume level is on the radio. even when i tun up the volume the subs will hit the same on 1 volume as on 20. Any ideas on why this is happening or how i can solve it?

Re: Subs staying at a constant sound level

See earlier posts on this problem. You have to tap into the out going rear speaker wiring from the amp in the rear quarter panel.

Re: Subs staying at a constant sound level

more details:
The line out levels from the head unit are constant. The volume/balance/etc are done in the amp via CANbus messages.

Re: Subs staying at a constant sound level

I made this mistake when i had my '08. Find the high level outs to the rear speakers as mentioned above and your all set.
