Switched power from factory amp?

All the threads I have read regarding adding a sub to the factory system instruct you/ have indicated to run the switched power wire to a source in the dash or under the hood. My question is, is there not a switched source going to the factory amp in the back of the Jeep and if so, can you not tap into that for the sub amp?

Per here:

Maybe pin 4 or 13 would work but I think the on/off signal is sent over the canbus

Re: Switched power from factory amp?

Do the best route (which is what I did): Tap the ACC wire behind the main cigarette lighter (the not always on one) and run that wire to your amp in the back. Since you run the wire from this convenient location, it's pretty easy to wire in an easily accessible in-line switch for powering on/off the amp at the same time!

There is no switched power available at the amp, the factory amp turns on and off via canbus as mentioned.

Some line output converters have a remote power lead output, the cheap $10 ones dont.

My alpine amp has signal sensing turn on, no need for a remote turn on, once it senses the audio coming through the RCAs it automatically kicks itself on.
