Upgrading my head unit

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my head unit and I wanted to make sure that I had read plenty into other threads before I posted my own.

About my jeep, it's a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with BA sound system (No NAV). I'm wanting to upgrade it to a touchscreen type system so here's what I believe that I will need to do this. Please correct me if I'm wrong (I've linked to the things I think I will need though not necessarily the exact ones I would plan to buy).

-NAV Bezel to fit D-DIN

-Unit Mount (comes with head-unit)

-Head Unit (this is the one I'm looking at right now)

-AM/FM Antenna Adapter (comes with head-unit)

-Steering Wheel Control Adapters (this is the one thing I'm not entirely certain on... is there anything else I need to keep my steering wheel buttons?)

-Sirius XM Tuner (I have the subscription, would just have to move it over to a new unit which I would do through Sirius I believe)

I plan to get a long (I don't know, maybe 30-50 foot) iPod 5 lightning connector to plug into the back of the unit and run that up to my center console to plug in. I have an Android phone so I would use the Pandora control through my BlueTooth as it says it can control Pandora on Android that way.

Is there anything else that I might be missing to set this up? Do I need anything else to power the Boston Acoustics speakers? Any other advice you might be able to give me at this point? Thanks everyone and I hope to begin collecting these parts in the next few months so I can make this happen!

Re: Upgrading my head unit

You have most of the stuff. You'll also need a wiring harness (like those available from PAC) to wire the head unit into the canbus system. This is in addition to the steering wheel control adapter.

Websites like crutchfield will ask about your car and provide a detailed list of what you need. May be worth checking out.
