Disable front shaft.

This may have been discussed, but I didn't locate the thread. I want disable the front 4x4 system to have more fun drifting, mpg, etc.. Is it possible with out creating any damage?

Re: Disable front shaft.

You could pull the front drive shaft and that would obviously stop the power going to the fronts.

However, with gears in the axles etc, you won't really gain much MPG (if any). I'm considering giving it a go this year but still undecided - I'd probably go through the rears in a day.

Re: Disable front shaft.

I had my front shaft out to change the starter,tried to run it like that,cause the front u-joint wasn't smooth...NO GO!.... really, it wouldnt go,just revved up.
