I have a question that is probably gonna sound dumb and make me look even dumber, but here it goes, I have a 2010GC 5.7, Do I have an EGR or not??? I've gotten so many yea's and nea's I honestly have no idea,
PLEASE ADVISE :confused::confused::confused:

FALSE, I have a 2010 5.7 and recently did the SRT manifolds conversion, there is an EGR port on the passenger side header. Check my thread for pictures...

Now I don't have a CLUE where the EGR valve is located but it definitely has one. I thought VVT meant no EGR as well (after weeks of thread surfing), luckily I was inspecting the stock Mani's and realized there was an EGR port, almost bolted the SRTs on there without grinding the port

I've heard the yeas/neas too, and don't know for sure, but just because there is a port in the head doesn't mean there is an EGR valve. If there is no valve, the other end of that port in the head will be capped...or the exhaust manifold opening will be covered. If there is one, it has to be mounted to the other end of that port in the exhaust manifold (probably on the front of the head), and will be in series with that port and the intake manifold. Because of the hot gases traveling through the valve/tube to the intake, the tube will probably have some sort of insulation....like the early ones do.

EDIT: I will say, that if you haven't gotten an EGR warning light/code after putting the 6.1
manifolds on, you probably don't have one, especially if you didn't grind the notch in the exhaust manifold No. 2 port flange. The code you'd probably get is a low exhaust gas flow through the valve.
