Finally got rid of suspension clunk

Been chasing this problem for almost a month since I installed my RC 2" lift.

For you guys who has lifted their rigs and have a left (driver side) clunk when going over bumps and potholes. I already found the culprit, it is the steering rack and pinion who makes this annoying noise, maybe due to changes on suspension geometry.

I just tighten the yoke adjustment bolt on the rack and the mysterious clunk gone. It is as silent as brand new car now...

Hope this help you guys....

Re: Finally got rid of suspension clunk

as promised...

Never tighten it that much or else you will get a stiffer steering wheel feel... I did mine only a quarter turn and the annoying noise is gone...

Hope this one will work for you...

Re: Finally got rid of suspension clunk

+1 on the wide picture. I wouldn't even know where to start looking for that, lol

Im hoping this would solve my metal chattering sound over bumps... funny cause when i hit the brakes at speed the sound goes away!

Mine is same with you, when i hit the breaks there is no noise.
That bolt is located beneath the oil filter splash guard, you need to remove that splash guard so that you can easily turn the star nut in the steering rack. you will need 15 mm socket with 12 point.

I'll try to take a wider picture tomorrow...
