I don't know if you have to remove all the glue or not but I did.

Break the reflector off. Lol.

Re: [Guide] WK H1 Mini Morimoto Retrofitting Low Beam

With the relay harness you only use of the the 9006 plugs, correct?
Does the one that stays unplugged cause a bulb out warning?

I don't know. I have a double relay harness from Xenon Depot. But yes, you do use the 9006 harness.

So is one of your factory pigtail 9006 left unplugged? One that would normally be plugged into a bulb

Re: [Guide] WK H1 Mini Morimoto Retrofitting Low Beam

I am interested in getting the e46-r shrouds, does anyone have any tips on how to mount them. RFS said that they could either be siliconed to the projector or modify the centric ring to fit. The centric rings do not work out of the box with the e46-r, only on the e46-r extended. I hate to have to use silicone to make them work.

I made the same decision about a week ago. I have been talking about it for awhile but finally pulled the trigger and started ordering parts.

So far I have ordered my headlights and have already diassembled them.
Waiting on ordering everything from RFS because I cannot decide which shrouds I like. I want the e46-r but I believe they are going to be more difficult to mount.

Re: [Guide] WK H1 Mini Morimoto Retrofitting Low Beam

Yes. The single relay harness just needs a signal for the switch when you turn on the lights.

I ran into the same problem with the E-46 Extended shrouds and that's why I decided to use the Gatling Gun shrouds instead.

If I was to do this mod all over again, I would definitely try something different just because. The only thing that held me back from painting and other stuff was the fact that I wanted to keep them looking stock as much as possible.

Take you're time with all your decisions is good advice right now. Call the guys at TRS and ask then for guidance in the E-46 shrouds.

After you retrofit projectors, I highly recommend that you delete the from parking lights for a very clean look.

Re: [Guide] WK H1 Mini Morimoto Retrofitting Low Beam

Quick question...when you are aiming your headlights.... If you use the lower portion of the cutoff to adjust the height, doesnt this put the top part in the oncoming drivers eyes? I measured 25' away from the wall went and marked the wall 2.5" lower then the middle of the headlight. The only difference is that I adjusted with the high/top part of the cutoff. It seems to me if you adjust the lower part of the cutoff to 2.5" lower, then the high part will be up too high??

Re: [Guide] WK H1 Mini Morimoto Retrofitting Low Beam

The upper portion is closer to the right......oncoming traffic is on the left.

Having the right upper portion as high as possible with the left dropped down 1" to 2" will give you the most visibility possible without being a nuisance.
