Wow..I've actually like been postponing this for a while. I already got some goodies coming up. But this will most likely be purchased sometime soon. School/Work/Social life gets in the way....

Re: [Guide] WK H1 Mini Morimoto Retrofitting Low Beam

I leave for basic training in a month. I won't be up there anytime soon.

However, for my first few duty stations, I'm picking Arlington and all over DC. I might come to a city near you after all.

Hey i am very impressed with the retro fit. could you post a picture of the cutoff lines from the outside? also once attached how did you adjust them up and down left and right?i understand the rotational adjusting but not sure how you made the other adjustments. thanks.

Re: [Guide] WK H1 Mini Morimoto Retrofitting Low Beam

there is no Left and right.

you adjust them up and down just like stock......using the torx that you can see looking down near rear of headlight assembly.

the OP, 2for3, is in Basic training so pics may be scarce from him. but search as tons of others have done this mod exactly like this/

Re: [Guide] WK H1 Mini Morimoto Retrofitting Low Beam

Broady, what do you mean cutoff from the outside?

This is on the first page of this thread and I realize it's the view from the inside of the car but i don't understand what exactly you're looking for.

Re: [Guide] WK H1 Mini Morimoto Retrofitting Low Beam

I love what you did here. I am getting ready to do a quad projector retrofit on my '08 SRT. I was going to put MH1's in the low beam holes and then FX-R's in the high beam holes.

Do you think there is room to put full size gatling shrouds on those MH1's??? According to the TRS site, the min gatlings you used are about 3.6" in diameter whereas the full size gatlings are 4.8" - think you could have squeezed another half inch on either side of that MH1???

There really isn't enough room for it in the stock location. I was going to use the gattling gun 2 shrouds for my retrofit. I knew it was gonna take some work to fit, but with the stock housing it would have taken a LOT of trimming and resizing/rounding to make them fit and look right. I only know of one person who did it successfully (Verminator), and even he said it was more of a pain than it was worth. He wished that he would have just used the mini's instead.

Plus the larger shrouds use the centric ring method for attachment to the projector instead of screwing on. I had issues with this because the ring was actually too large for the inside of the shroud(defect in manufacturing I was told). It took many emails with TRS to to fix the problem. I eventually had to modify both the centric ring and the inside of the shroud to make them fit together right. I ended up just asking for the mini's instead and it turned out great!

I've been meaning to say thanks to lll2for3lll for this great tutorial. It really helped me out a lot with my project. Here's a pic of how mine turned out:

You painted behind the projectors/shrouds? That looks ****ing awesome.

I'm planning on making another set here in the near future and might have a shop color code the housings (I'm not the best painter when it comes to all the prep work and so).
