Re: How to-2008 OEM Jeep Grand Cherokee HID headlights on an 05-07

Maybe a bit out of context and not a bulb error per se but when I put the Euro tails on my 06 WK, I got two codes

- B1644: Rear Left Turn Control Circuit High
- B1648: Rear Right Turn Control Circuit High

... reset it and never got em back.

Re: How to-2008 OEM Jeep Grand Cherokee HID headlights on an 05-07

I was hoping that someone could help out. I asked a friend traveling from the states to bring me a two 9006 single relay harness but he turned up with a pair of dual ones. I just do not like the idea of a one point failure that would take out both lamps so my question is this: Can I just use one dual relay for each side as if they were single relays ?

Also, the high beam and the turns are just plug and play from the 05-07 bulbs so it means that we use only two wires from each of the 08+ headlights. Right ?

Anyway, these are the relay that I have

Re: How to-2008 OEM Jeep Grand Cherokee HID headlights on an 05-07

I finally got the answers I was looking for on another site, installed the lights and wanted to post feedback in case somebody else would be looking for it.

1/ Only two wires from each HID are used, all others can be cut off. You take the harness off the 05-07 headlight so the two turns and the high are plug and play and the two wires you keep for the 08+ are the plus and ground.

2/ Can use two dual relay without a problem. Cut off or duck away the connector you are not using and its all good.

Re: How to-2008 OEM Jeep Grand Cherokee HID headlights on an 05-07

Of course I read and re-read your posts in this and other threads and checked the pics but was not sure on the two points I asked in my previous post. I just had a doubts because it seemed unlikely that it would be that easy. It was. Thanks.

Now got to figure out how to take care of the gaps. Unfortunately I do not have an 08 bumper laying around.

yes..it is very easy. I soder, dip in liquid tape, shrink warp, tape and then shrink wrap again. Takes 5 minutes for each side. I have a set for a member here right now..mitchelm. They will be going out hopefully monday.

I made some"humps" that fit in the space using an old bumper. Just cut, glued and bondo'ed and then had them painted to match

Re: How to-2008 OEM Jeep Grand Cherokee HID headlights on an 05-07

ok sogard- here is the passenger lamp HID part # 55157484AF. This is from a lamp made in 2008...so Im sure that part # has been superceeded by a new number..but that should get you to the right part #. I cannot find one on the drivers side lamp. I have 3 drivers side lamp here in my possession and NONE of them have the part # sticker on them.
