Re: How to-2008 OEM Jeep Grand Cherokee HID headlights on an 05-07

Okay.. with Scott'shelp, and the forum sticky... I did the conversion... everything works great... BUT, there seems to be a difference in the temperature of the driver side and the passenger side lamp. Both housings are OEM's. Now I just have to aim them a smidge... Once i understood the sticky... it was abreeze. The only additions I would make to the sticky is the front bumper skin on the 08 (mine) can be moved a bit outward to allow for the hand and the ratchet to get to the "Bugger bolt" by unsnapping the bumper skin clips that attach the colour coded front bumper cover from the black plastic frame. Now the only concern I have is all the open sockets and the plethora of wires that are unused and are they a water hazard.

any plugs that has power to it should be taped up.

the LAW for projector aiming is 2.1 inches below the center of the light at 25 feet back.

I assume the bulbs are OEM too. one must be on the way out if they look that out of whack or SOMEONE could have swapped a diff temp in one.

Re: How to-2008 OEM Jeep Grand Cherokee HID headlights on an 05-07

If you're still wondering what the price for these are, I just called the Jeep dealership in Tampa and asked for prices on the left and right headlights:
Right headlight: $707.00 - Part number: 55157484AH
Left headlight: $535.00 - Part number: 55157485AG

the unused wires are no problem Bernie. They wont pose any hazards as they arent powered at all. You can clip them off if you wish. I left them there and left that option up to you.

wow, not only do you provide me with a nice walk-through on how to install the 08 HID's on my vehicle, but you saved me $378 in the process

Thank you for the walk-through and thanks for mentioning moparpartsamerica.

I saw them on ebay for those prices, but I'd rather spend more money and not have any problems along the way or in the future. Thanks for the tip though.
