I want to do this for some Spots/Floods i have planned on installing... need to find the switches that fit in that location though as I dont have heated seats.

Re: How to "activate" a switch blank '08+ (radar detector hardwire remote mute/LEDs)

Who has a vinyl plotter and wants to take on a REALLY small job? lol

I need this (not the box, just the symbol) in reflective silver about 8mm wide. I tried cutting it out by hand but it wasn't perfect enough.

Re: How to "activate" a switch blank '08+ (radar detector hardwire remote mute/LEDs)

Looks awesome. You have some great patience my friend. I cant wait to get a nice radar dector. My POS Cobra barely picks up anything any more. Most of the time i see the cop and pass him before it even alerts that there is one in the area.

Re: How to "activate" a switch blank '08+ (radar detector hardwire remote mute/LEDs)

I really like the idea but with it being so low and out of view I feel like I would miss it. I am thinking of putting 2 LED's in the gauge bezel on the very left side of it and the mute button down in the cubby on the left side. That way the lights will be more in your FOV and you are more likely to notice them. Great writeup!

Re: How to "activate" a switch blank '08+ (radar detector hardwire remote mute/LEDs)

Not that I would have a radar detector since they are not legal in VA, BUT if I did this would be great for going Stealth.....

Exactly what I was thinking. Not that I would ever use one in VA or DC since they're illegal, but I did just buy the only undetectable RD on the market! Looks like I will have some wiring to do when I get home in a few weeks.

The audio is what really gets your attention. You'd be surprised though how well your peripheral can pick up a bright flashing red light. You could also use the switch blank above the HVAC control if you want it higher
