good writeup.
Thanks, and thanks for the additional info!!

The clips that were already in there seemed fine to me, so I don't doubt that it isn't necessary to put the new ones in.

I did remove the cap when I did the procedure, but I was told that it wasn't of any benefit in another thread (after I finished). So, I'm not sure at this point, but it can't hurt I guess.

Re: How-To: Change Front Brake Pads (WK)

Thats how my altima was. Only had to remove one ahe the caliper swings out. But when it's steady over 50 degrees in NY I'll change my pads. LOL

I think Bendix and Wagner are the typical replacements.

I've been VERY happy with my Bendix. Amazon has them for like 70-80 bucks for both front and rear.

Re: How-To: Change Front Brake Pads (WK)

The rears is basically the same set, but they are smaller than the Front Brakes. THere is a Write-Up for the Rears somewhere...

Re: How-To: Change Front Brake Pads (WK)

For step 8, are the bolts supposed to get grease? I get the pins need to be cleaned and greased, but I'd think lubricant on the bolt would make it want to loosen up.
