Smile Re: How To : Install A JET 180 TStat

Got my Jet Thermostat today engine too hot to install. Does the jet stat with the black rubber gasket need to be changed with the one that came off the the oem stat? Is there any modding the stat or does it fit right in?

Chris

Re: How To : Install A JET 180 TStat

I will install my jet but in the trinity diablosport i can find the option to modify the fan temperature, and in the forum support say:
"I seem to recall here seeing a thread where it was described that the SUVs use a electric clutch fan, not a real electric fan."
I think they erase the option, or can someone help me with that?

Re: How To : Install A JET 180 TStat

the 5.7L fan is hydraulic not electric or clutch. The diablo unit should have it... id update it and look again. If that fails, call up customer support.

Re: How To : Install A JET 180 TStat

It is a good mod my temp driving around highway the temp 185 stop go about 203 to 207, temp 203 is what the stock tstat is. Without in hot atlanta I was running 215 to 220 stop and go. I have never had a code come up. I got a dashhawk so I can see my temp readings.

Re: How To : Install A JET 180 TStat

Mmm ok i asume that the 5.7 hemi, has two hydraulic fans, to they are always runing?, there some parameter in the ecu?.
I been reading a lot in other chargers, challenger forums that a Tstat 180 are the most common upgrades to the 5.7 engine, but they said if the fan temperature arent modify the upgrade its workless.

Theres a tuningsuperstore.com where it can make a custom tune for 5.7, maybe in the custom tune can be modify the parameters to the fan on/off, so it can work better with the tstat?

Re: How To : Install A JET 180 TStat

It should just be an option to turn on or off on the diablo... I know its like that on the superchips. Believe that you are also able to pull CMR canned tunes off the diablo site as well with the purchase and setup of a tuner to your jeep from them.
