Re: How To: Install a mesh grill on a 08 WK

Yeah I shoulda had it powder coated, I'm sure I will later on. I sanded it down, primed it, two coats of black and three coats of clear. Worse comes to worse atleast I'll have a template for the next one.

That mesh is from Lowes. It's around 10 bucks a sheet and took me two sheets of it.

Re: How To: Install a mesh grill on a 08 WK

just wrapped up the installation. $50 powdercoated diamond mesh from customcargrills.com

I did use bolts down the middle of the grill so that the grill did not "flatten out" as if i would have mounted it at the top and bottom.

I also put one in the lower bumper opening buy you can't really see it unless laying on the ground.

Overall i am happy with the turnout, i do prefer the vertical orientation of the diamonds in the srt grill but for $50 bucks this will work.

What's this called and where in Lowe's did you find it?

Re: How To: Install a mesh grill on a 08 WK

Lowe's has another type of screen back by their doors, its a diamond-pattern screen cover like the HD kind from the first post only a little higher quality (it does come in a frame) and costs $20 but it think it'd be big enough for the grille. i comes in SS, a grey and WHITE for those of you who wanna try that, no painting
