Re: How To: Install VLEDs Dual Color Turn Signals

you get rid of the yellow bulb, their leds and are brighter, and they turn yellow when you put on your turn signal or hazards... can you explain why you wouldn't want to do it?

Re: How To: Install VLEDs Dual Color Turn Signals

Alright ladies and gentleman...i just installed a ste of autolumination 60/60 aw switchbacks. I used the reccomended 3 ohm resistors. they look awesome and work pretty well. The only problem i have is when the lights are in the off position...heres what i get:

lights in off position- when hazards are on they dont blink in sequence, left white while right orange, also i get a strobe effect on either side when blinker is activated...super fast flash white then amber.also the passenger front turn signal flashes only white/amber intermittently (sometimes flashes amber only) unlike the driver side flashing a quick white/amber strobe...this only happens with all lights off and left turn signal enguaged

parking lights only-when the parking lights are on everything works perfectly

Parking lights on ,headlights on-same as parking lighst only, everything works fine.

the last thing i noticed is when i lock or unlock the doors with the remote i get a white amber strobe out of sequence from left side to right side....

in conclusion, i love these lights and im gonna keep em installed, im just not going to run with the lights in the off position...thats when i have problems, so i guess until i find a fix im gonna have to keep them parking lights on. I have read this thread several times and havnt quite founnd this specific issue im having addressed.any feedback would be a huge help...now if i could just get my hid lows to arrive!

Re: How To: Install VLEDs Dual Color Turn Signals

what year??

08+ need a 1.5 ohm sometimes. you can test by running t 2 -3 ohm in paralle l (I THINK)

BUT FIRST try turning the bulbs around. they have a polarity and when put in backwards give some strange affects.

Nate, you poor bastard.

I was having the exact same problems. However, what finally did it in for me was that I was having the added effect of the amber lights seemingly coming a tiny bit on in parking light mode. This was casting an amber tint that polluted the pure white of my running lights, which looked terrible in the stark contrast of the HID headlights. I made several attempts to rectify the problem, to no avail. Here was the only solution I found:

http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/T...68713-1-2.html

Yeah, that's right, I've defected and went BACK to V-LED's bulbs. But I have a legitimate excuse, I swear!

At the time of my recommendation for the Autolumination bulbs, V-LED's did not offer a bulb that alternated amber to white. Autolumination refers to this as an "AW" bulb, while V-LED's calls it a "Type 1" bulb. Since then, V-LED's has released a type 1, which I picked up.

Now, these do kinda suck because they aren't the true 60-60 like the AL bulbs. However, it is the fact that each individual LED on the 60-60 bulb is amber AND white that is causing this phenomena. With the v-led's bulb being comprised of separate amber and white led's, you don't have the problem.

Bummer, I know. I tried to make my AL bulbs work but I couldn't.
