Alright,

I just got my "new" bulb from autolumination today. heres the deal, i oredered a set of 60/60 switchback leds from A.L. I installed them just like the diy said (And yes i have the 50w 3 ohm resistors) and they wernt working correctly. i gave each bulb the good ol 180 switch and still didnt fix lighting issues. Then i resulted in moving bulbs from driver to passenger side...finally I isolated the problem to the bulb itself...dead short! no matter where i put the bulb it blows a fuse and now it doesnt light up white at all, just blinks amber when signal applied. I can actually see where there are wires inside the molded wedge are touching eachother. I ordered a new bulb from them and they told me to send the old one back. Fair enough right, well now the problem i have is that on the "new" bulb they sent me, ive noticed that when parking lights are on and bulb is lit up all white theres a row of leds going from top to bottom on the bulb that are illuminated amber...wtf over? so outta 3 bulbs 2 of them are defective...and these people are getting 30 each for these pieces of shit! the lady in customer service is a real peach to deal with...now just to find the actual phone number so i can speak to a person...I did notice that even with the new bulb, the light itself was still not working properly. when parking lights are on, and signal is applied, the bulb only flashes amber off insted of amber white like the other side, then when signal is shut off theres a slight delay before the white reappears...dont have that problem ont he other side. it goes srtaight from blinking amber white back to white immediatly??? i have no damned idea whats going on. Iwill return the bulbs and get two new ones sent out to me. hopefully i just had a real bad streach of luck with defective bulbs.IF i get two bulbs that actually light up correctly, if i still have the problem then ill go for 2 more 50w 3 ohm resistors...please anyone help if you know what may be wrong!

Dude, bad string of luck! I almost feel bad now for recommending AL several pages back in this thread. Really, the 60-60 stealth bulbs are a great idea on paper, but they are just not put to practice very well. They don't seem to be able to figure out the color-changing very accurately. I think that if you bought enough bulbs, you could find two that work flawlessly. I bought four of those bulbs and didn't even wind up with two good ones. At that point I switched to the V-LED's bulbs. They are 30-30 bulbs, so the color-changing can all be handled with discrete circuitry. Bottom line, no problems but they aren't as bright.

It all depends on how anal you wanna get. It's real easy to get carried away with this LED lighting stuff. Just remember, you are probably your vehicle's own harshest critic and even with bad bulbs, it still probably looks better than most peoples' jeeps. Keep at it and your hard work will be rewarded!

count me in as a successful install of these bulbs and 3 ohm resistors, followed your write up step by step, went perfect.

Re: How To: Install VLEDs Dual Color Turn Signals

try the 3 ohm, if they dont work, go for the 1.5.

are the turn signal bulbs for the '08+ the same as '05-'07?
