You mean bulb types? Or resistors? They use the same bulb obviously, resistance I'm not sure.

What I will say though is that I now believe that a lot of the trouble that people are having is due to poor installation. I had my front bumper off a few months ago and decided to clean up the install to make things look nicer. I ditched the scotch-loks and did my standard practice solder-and-heat-shrink technique on the resistor wires. Then something interesting happened - I tried both the 3- and 6-ohm resistors and the bulb functioned absolutely fine with either one. FYI, I have the V-LED's Type 1 bulb (60-led).

This leads me to believe that a lot of the trouble people are having is because they aren't getting good connections with the scotch-loks or they are splicing into the wrong wires. BTW, you might as well throw the blue scotch-loks that they give you away (they are still giving ppl blue ones, right?). Blue scotch-loks are for 16-14 gauge wire. The wires attached to the resistor and the wires you tap into on the jeep are [at best] 18-gauge. The jeep wires may even be 20-gauge. Thus, you need the RED scotch-loks to get a good connection.

If you are having any sort of intermittent problems with the bulbs, the first thing I'd look for is a shoddy connection.

Re: How To: Install VLEDs Dual Color Turn Signals

most of the 08+ had better luck with the 1.5ohm and not the 3ohm resistors

Not all of the bulbs do that. Mine for example switches from yellow to white as it blinks. Instantly

Re: How To: Install VLEDs Dual Color Turn Signals

Hi all,

I got from autolumination the switchback bulbs and decided to install them this week-end.
I was stopped in the job just after having removed the orignal buld and its socket: as this is a european model (WH), the socket is only designed for being used as turn light; a pin is missing inside the socket.
Where could I find a 'complete' (full wired) socket like you have?

Thanks in advance.

What did you use to get your OEM bulb out? Mine seems to be locked in there from every angle...

I hiked up my skirt and hit it with my purse. I suggest you do the same...
