Re: How To: Install VLEDs Dual Color Turn Signals

ok, i got a total of 6 wires going into the socket. 2 green,2 black, 2 black/purple. Does it matter which green and black wires i splice into?

Re: How To: Install VLEDs Dual Color Turn Signals

Never mind, the 6 wires was probably from the harness for the aftermarket headlights(Rockauto), found my oem ones and it did have 3. So i just spliced a green and black and BAM +rep to Frankie! The hardest part was securing the resistors to something. I pretty much rushed through the whole process and wasnt able to secure it to the frame(too short) but there were 2 openings in which i was able to slide a ziptie through it and into the resistors. Not a clean install at all but it will have to do for now. Ill get pics another day, dont have anymore time to waste studying for finals lolol.

Re: How To: Install VLEDs Dual Color Turn Signals

Okay, Im going crazy here, I CANNOT get mine to work with 3 ohm resistors or 6 ohm resistors.. I know I spliced into the right wires green and black.. They will NOT work on the front. the rear sockets I modifed to fit standard 3157 sockets and have 6ohm resistors and they work perfect back there.. once I plug them in up front it does not work. the blinker comes on but white does not. Iv tried to unplug resistors in the rear and replace with standard 3157 bulb Im at a loss. I have a 2008

hmmm, Irf (B.P.O.D) told me he had to use 1.5 ohm on his 08. Maybe give that a shot?

ok you are close/ first thing is try reversing the bulb; I KN OW IT SOUNDS CRAZY BUT TRY IT ANYWAY/

if that doesnt work you can take BOTH 3 ohm and wire them to make 1.5 and see if that does it.....but I think its my first thing/ it SORT of works then you swap it and BAM/

That's because diodes are polarized. One side let current through and the other side doesn't (literally). That is the purpose of diodes.

I did change the bulb 180 a few times with different configurations of resistors. im going out to try both resistors on one side and hope that works..

Re: How To: Install VLEDs Dual Color Turn Signals

Okay robb Im in process of uploading 3 videos of my situation to get ultra clarification.. should have up then in 10-15min

Video is taking some time to upload here is a break down of the videos I will post

Video 1

Single 3hm resistor. with the bulb FULLY depressed in the socket and parking lights ON the bulb is completely OFF. Turn signal works perfectly
If I barly press the bulb into the socket where it barly stays by its self The WHITE stays on perfectly the Turn signal DOES NOT work.. It never switchs off WHITE. At first I thought I might have the wrong socket. I dont think thats the case..

Video 2

Bulb Mimmicks Video one perfect but I am running two 3ohm resistors inline to create 1.5 ohm. Still does not work..

Video 3

Shows how the Switch back works PERFECTLY on my tail lamp wired up with 1 6ohm resistor.. (remember I modified the rear pigtail to fit a standard 3157 bulb because I am an idiot and orderd the Standard type for the rear insted of CK)

Only thing I can come up with as to mine being different from others is the way I wired up my tails. If no one else has my exact setup then thats my firs thought.

The only thing I HAVE NOT tried now is running two 3 ohm resistors inline with eachother on the front and removing my 6ohm from the rear.

I did removing the 6 ohm from the rear earlier but did not test it with 2-3ohm inline.

This Sucks.
