Thanks man, I found some aluminum mesh at home depot used for stucco.. I thought about making a grill out of that..

As for the headlights, They are DONE! only imprefection is on inside of high beam reflector on drivers side where it was cracked.

But for about $330 invested I think They came out great.

Re: How to open up OEM HID headlight housings to paint the bezels

Well, I decided to move on to the pass side. I went and talked with my friend thats doing some paint work for me, Phlat Black Customs. I showed him my drivers side and asked him if he had ever done this. He told me he just did it on a mustang last week. He advised me to turn the heat up to 450 and bake it for 10 min. I decided to split the difference between Jdubya and him. I went 300 for 10 minutes, got it half off, let it cool some and went another 10. Boy did it come off easy, and not only did it come off easy......

IT FREAKIN MELTED MY SIDE MARKER! So I go on ebay and find an 08 halogen to steal the side marker from and I decided to check the lens and there are thousands of spider cracks in the middle layers of the plastic. I shined a light through the lens and it looks like a disco-tech strobe.

Well live and learn, only a $60 F***-up. Coulkd have been much worse.

Sorry for lack of pics, but the cracks would not show up in the photo.

Mike

Re: How to open up OEM HID headlight housings to paint the bezels

I'm going to retrofit a set of aftermarket OEM spec'd 2005 assemblies.

Are aftermarket headlights easier to open?
