I also noticed a particular absence of photos here, so as a design/photog major, I've been attempting to document this entire process the best I can with my greasy hands, so that way you can all see every bit of the process.

now I'll be off to paint everything, by the morning I should have everything reassembled and good to go. glad I read this whole thread though, or I would have given up hours ago.
I'm glad you got them apart! It sure is a PITA...

yeah when I was working on mine, I wasn't planning on making a how-to; this thread was an afterthought at the request of a few people. I'm all for photos so feel free to add them to this thread or start your own

Re: How to open up OEM HID headlight housings to paint the bezels

O finally got my light open today ...and here is the thing , i didn't actually bake them !!! I used hit gun !!!!, I was directing the heat to the back of the light to dont burn the leans!!! I also found 2 great tools wich help me a lot . Pick tool and house separator tool . It took me about 20-25 min for each side to open and clean them from the left over glue .

Its pretty easy just make shore you don't pray on overheated housing , that will deform your light back cover , just take your time start from inside (grille side ) heat and l lift the leans just a little and heat it again etc .

Good luck

Re: How to open up OEM HID headlight housings to paint the bezels

^hahahah, appreciate it but most of it's from pointers/writeups from members and some luck.

Do you have your stock halogen lights? If so, try opening 1 up to get the feel for the process. After you manage to, the second set is EZ. SO worth it in the end!

After you're done...you can come back at me with this..

Sleeps is on a distinguished road
So i have repainted my bezels and now almost ready to put them all together. I put in the bezel before the sealant right? So that the clips are underneath the sealant. Im almost positive but just wanted to make sure.
