The 4.7 and the 5.7 are the same, its a black hose like going rom behind the throttle body into the brake booster. If you read it it even says it on there, its a pain in the ass to get off you have to twist and wiggle it all over to get it to pop off, just don't pull to hard.

Re: How To: Sea Foam Automotive Treatment

Just did this last night. I was going to change my oil anyways so I thought I would give it a try. It was as easy as the write up says it is. Getting off the vacuum line was no problem. I did stall out my jeep twice while sucking it up through the line. Once you get a slow steady flow going its no problem and having a partner to give it a little gas probably wouldnt hurt.

It was a little hard to start back up and at first all I had was a little white smoke going and I was like wtf. So I decided to take it for a ride and by the time I got down the block it was like I was driving a diesel. I smoked out a few good hundred feet of road lol. Then I took it on a spirited drive to work the rest out and within a few minutes it was running great. Its only been one day but my gas mileage seems to be pretty good and the engine does seem to respond a little better. Im going to pay attention to it more but today when I went to accelerate from 40 mph it actually took off like it should instead of lagging like it usually would.

Overall the stuff is on sale at Advance Auto Parts right now for $6.99 a bottle until 9/28/11 so for that price you really cant go wrong. I know the inside of my engine isnt spotless now but with this and me finally being able to get the right kind of oil in the jeep it seems to run a lot better.

Re: How To: Sea Foam Automotive Treatment

Get two cans, put half of one into a full tank of gas and the other half into your oil, then put three quarters of the second bottle into the vacuum line and LET IT SIT for like 20 mins. THEN start it, once you rev off the real heavy smoke take it out for a drive, do some hard accelerations to blow most of it off.

Re: How To: Sea Foam Automotive Treatment

Well I seafoam today I put the 10oz in the crankcase then drove around got the Hem engine to 205 degrees it was nice and warm. Then I took off the vaccum hose and slowly pour in a 1/3 pint which was 3oz of seafoam the engine shut off a couple of time got it back on each time, once finished let it sit for 20 mins. Started jeep up fine little white smoke drove it like mad and no big smoke show. What did I do wrong if any. This is the same thing I did to my dads ford sport trac truck with 100k miles and it smoked a little. Oh in his truck we did not put it in the oil because we just changed it. But one thing was interesting about it was we just changed the oil at 7k and it was alot dirty thicker than before so maybe it cleaned all the sort and it went into oil. We we put in new oil and it runs better and we lost this rattling noise the engine made and it is alot quieter and smoother. I may wait alittle longer then change my oil see if it gets dirtier.
So how much seafoam are you guys putting in the vaccuum line ?

Currently sea foaming the vac line. Did the gas n crank already. As I poured it in she started to smoke. Now she's in wait mode for 20. Then we will see what happens.

Since adding in gas n crank I've noticed she runs smoother and idles smoother as well. MPGs went up slightly too. Woot!
