install brake controller

I want to install a Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller on a 2008 Grand Cherokee. Can anyone tell me where the factory wire harness is and which wires go where?

Re: install brake controller

I'm going to be doing this soon on my WJ. On a WJ the trailer feed is supposed to be behind the driver side kick panel. I'd guess it's probably the same for you if you have the tow package. As far as the other wires you need a switched 12v,ground and a brake light feed but I don't know the colors yet and they would probably be different on yours anyway. On a WJ there is no more all in one plug anymore and the same probably applies to yours.Try to find a FSM somewhere and check out the wiring diagrams section.

Re: install brake controller

I've got one on my WJ.
It doesn't work as the previous owner ran the wiring to the trailer plug down past the starter motor and under the car, so it has exposed wiring due to rubbing on corners. That seems to be the only issue with it.
I will post pictures if you want......and if it will help you
