sweet! so have you used your jeep with the 180 in the motor this past winter? If so how do you feel it performs, and does the heat in the vehicle get nice and hot in the dead of winter?

Oh how nice... hah, well i guess then you will find out. I do like the idea of a colder running motor. It will probably last longer anyhow. Do you remember what therm you bought and where you got it from?

Re: Installed: Jet 180 T-Stat

My problem is that I can't do it where I live (not my call) and if I go somewhere else then the coolant is HOT by the time I get anywhere.... I guess I can do it next to the rain gutter down the street LOL JK

Re: Installed: Jet 180 T-Stat

It's from pepboys, not sure on the brand, as long as you get a 180 degree in 54mm you will be fine.
If you need a picture of the one i took out for reference let me know, i will take one for you.

I did this right out in the street. With coolant spillage and all.

Yeah it does feel great when installing something yourself. I might do this more often.

Re: Installed: Jet 180 T-Stat

With a 180 tstat, your engine runs cooler, therefore allowing for a bit more HP.

2 cons:

1.) If you dont allow for a proper warm up during the winter, a CEL will trip.
2.) Gas mileage may suffer a hair.
