You need to change your fan settings with your Diablo...187-190 is good. Otherwise, your fan will act CRAZY, lol!

Re: Installed: Jet 180 T-Stat

Im not going to install it then until I buy a diablo. I already told Joe Im going to. Seems that if you wantto mod properly on our jeeps, you need the diablo.

Whats the difference between a predator and trinity?

Dude a simple browsing of the Diablosport website will answer your questions.

2 cons:

1.) If you dont allow for a proper warm up during the winter, a CEL will trip.
2.) Gas mileage may suffer a hair.
I have the stock thermostat. I let my engine warm up to the proper temp today and I floored it turning left from a dead stop. A rear tire spun and then I felt the AWD kick in and it had no struggle after that. Right after going through the turn, the check engine light came on. I took my vehicle to an auto parts store and the error displayed that my thermostat was allowing too much coolant to get through.

Which is more likely, my thermostat is bad or my engine wasn't warmed up all of the way even though it appeared to be by the gauge on my dash? Thanks.

Re: Installed: Jet 180 T-Stat

You just have a bad thermostat IMO. Which by now on a 4 year old Jeep is due for a new one. I would replace it. Up to you whether you want to replace it with a 180.

Good deal. Thanks for the response.

I picked up a new one today. I didn't get the 180 because my engine temps are already pretty low.

Re: Installed: Jet 180 T-Stat

well, among other things, I am going to be installing the 180 jet tstat this weekend. two questions:

1. Do I have to grind the flange down to exactly 63mm?
2. Is there a better time to intstall this? ie after/before an oil change...obivously I will wait for a cool engine

thanks in advance...and since I do have 10+ months left on my warranty, do I need to install the stocker before I take her in for a service (if i need to)?

1. no grinding involved, seriously this takes like 20 minutes to undo the pipe, pop out the old one, pop in the new one, close pipe, refill lost fluid with new stuff

2. I dont think there is a "better time". very simple as mentioned, i did it in my garage, around this time last year.

And no need to take it out for service, chances are, it wont even be accessed in those 10+ months, let alone them realize its not a "stock" t-stat.

Plus its regular service, when i changed mine, the stocker looked bad, some corrosion.
