Question New gears

So the humming noise is becoming ridiculous, I want to replace the ring and pinion but what I want to know is can that be all I change? Do I need to or should I replace the spider gears and all other bearings? I am trying not to break the bank but if I need to then I suppose it would be ok. Opinions?

Re: New gears

The diiff's, particularly the ELSD, are not something any one can try to rebuild, even the Jeep dealer. The bearing preload is set using thick shim sets, and a special tool is needed to install them. Jasper remanufactures (not rebuilds) these diffs, and there are over 90 different shim thicknesses needed, since each diff is unique and must be set to exact tolerances.
If it is that bad and about to go, best bet, is to buy a Jasper reman. They do it right (they supply Nascar trannies), and it will be better/cheaper than an all new one from Chrysler.
