I will let everyone know how the original fluid looks and if anything was low after this weekend.

thanks.. id appreciate a checkback on those original fluids.. I think when i get to about 56K or so.. I'm gonna do all the fluids, along with the belt and the spark plugs.. probably invest a pretty penny to get it in tiptop shape at around 60K... now if only i could figure out the damn knocking underneath over bumps and turns.. haha

Re: TC & Front/Rear Diff 30k Service

*update*

So i changed my transfer case oil today. The oil was only slightly darker than the new stuff (slighty brownish/red) I was actually very suprised to see the how well it held up for having 54k on it. I have the Quadradrive I system so i used ATF+4 fluid.

I also changed my serpentine belt (first time @ 54k). The stock belt was definitly showing signs of wear and had cracks all over on the ribbed side. And since i was under the hood i checked my power steering fluid level. It turned out to be about 1/4 low, so i topped it off with the factory Mopar stuff. Im telling you, having a friend in the parts department at my local dealership is so clutch!! saved me alot!!

The diffs will get done tomorrow.

Re: TC & Front/Rear Diff 30k Service

*final update*

Changed both diff's this morning. The oil that came out was slightly darker than the new Mopar fluid, but not bad looking at all considering i have 54k on the stock fluid. I also put in a bottle of the Mopar limited slip additive, one bottle per axel. After my inital test drive, i definitly noticed a decrease in axel whine/moan and smoothed out the steering wheel feel at speed (if that makes any sense) which im very happy about

Just make sure to take your time and be sure that your a level surface. Having the 2" lift helps alot when it comes to working underneath the truck.

Re: TC & Front/Rear Diff 30k Service

I know what you mean! when my 22's are on i can do oil changes and work on anything underneath my truck without jacking it up. Glad everything worked out for you.

SvenskaJeepGuy correctly stated that you do not need the additive. ONLY the electronic (ELSD) axles need it which your vehicle does not have.

Re: TC & Front/Rear Diff 30k Service

Is it necessary to have Mopar ATF+4 if I just have the 3.7 for the TC? I have some castrol ATF+4 that I just picked up

Re: TC & Front/Rear Diff 30k Service

ATF-4? WKJeeps and Fluids and Capacities: WK Quick Reference say ATF+4? Just wondering if it could be non-Mopar fluid for the TC.

Re: TC & Front/Rear Diff 30k Service

thats what i mean atf+4. Yes you can use a non mopar fluid any atf+4. The ones used in mine is mobil 1 atf+4 in tranny and i used mopar in TC because i was already at the dealership at the time.

Changed my spark plugs yesterday, it was a piece of cake.
Went to the stealership today to find out how much would be the service.
They told me $180 for TC and $180 for front/rear diff.
When i asked for parts/fluids that i need, the guy gave me an estimate of $220 just for fluids.
1 bottle of lubricant (4318060ab) $10 each
5 bottles(qt) of 75w-140 (4874469) $33 each
1 tube of sealer RTV (82300234) $10
2 bottles(qt) of ATF-4 (5013457aa) $9 each
+ tax

I checked wkjeeps.com and compared.
Shows me that i only need 4 bottles of 75w-140 intead of 5, and 1 bottle of ATF-4 instead of 2. + the lubricant and the sealer.

Did an estimate on wholesalemopar.com and everything came out to $140 with shipping.

What do you guys think of this price? If you have done the 30k service, how much of everything did you use? and how hard is it to DIY?
My last oil change in my 370Z using all factory stuff from the dealer was something like $150-ish.

An oil-change in my C6 Z06 was $140 if I supplied all of the oil (10.5qts 5-30 M1 DEXOS)

That price you quoted for "drop-off, pick-up" obviously has a profit margin, but it doesn't sound like something that would scare me off at all. IT's pretty cheap for dealership, I think.
