It's funny how here we have to bend over backwards in the name of "free trade" which was rammed down our throats by Europe (pre EU) and now after we have done it the EU actively prohibits our manufacturers from doing business there...thanks for the insight ,all the best to you and yours,Lance.

Re: Tow ball, where to find 2-5/16?

Now this thread turned a bit political but if I could, I would move to US in a heart beat!

Trust me on that one!

I didn't mean my comments to say anything bad about the people of the EU I just think government has gone wacko everywhere. It's interesting here we have people saying "that's how it is in Europe" as a justification for whatever thing they want to change and I'm almost certain that none of those people have done any homework regarding the effectiveness of whatever policy it is much less talking to the citizens that already are screwed over by the policies.

Its almost impossible to get a US-trailer registred in Denmark or Sweden.
In Sweden you can under curtain circumstances tow a US trailer but its very boarderline whats actually legal.

But the cops are kinda cool with it if you have a big enough tow vehicle and are drivning slowly strait to the harbour/ramp with the proper signs put on the trailer.
What ever happened to free trade?

what would a sign on the trailer have to say? "vehicle produced by medical marajuana users, caution"

Free trade applies, I can buy and import how many US-trailers I like.
Its the registration and making them correspond withj the rules in Scandinavia that is the problem.. :baningheadsmiley:

At least in Sweden you are allowed to tow a US-trailer (the rules are really fuzzy on this one) at a maximum speed of 20mph if you mark the trailer with a "slow going tractor sign" But I actually think that is only valid if the trailer has no suspension. None really knows so if you put that sign on and drive 20mph with a big enough vehicle you home free..

Its going to be exiting to see how the Danish police react!

This is how the sign should look like:
