Upgrades to tow with 3.7" WK?

First off, I know and regret buying a 3.7L WK. At the time, I was coming from a car, didn't think I needed a big SUV and had no plans on towing... and it was cheap with only 22k.

I have a 06 4x4 WK with the crummy 3.7L v6. With no tow package! On the bright side.. its paid for haha. Im looking to buy and tow a small travel trailer. Im looking at deals under 20', and between 2500-3200 GTW, with under 400lbs on the hitch.

Do you think this is ok? Im am willing to do some upgrades. I have the larger class 3 hitch installed, I put it in for a Rack. I need to get the trailer wires installed still. I can put in a trans cooler if I need to (Ill have to confirm its not already there) What else should I do to prepare for this trailer? Weight list system?

or do I just ditch it for a truck.... But its paid for....

If you're going to be towing anything heavy like a boat or camper, get a truck. I hear the f150 ecoboost v6 is impressive.
Now if you're talkin about a little open trailer for carrying a lawnmower on occasion, you're fine.
I have the same jeep. 06 wk 3.7L 4x4 Laredo and it can't pull a pinch of puppy crap.
I put Monroe load leveling shocks on the back just so I could carry a hitch haul rack with a cooler on it.
