Re: WK SeatBelt Chime Disable...

Did it on mine, (06 Hemi) as per your instructions: Worked extreamly well.. How do I go about setting it back to normal??
I tried doing the same proceedure, did not work... Trid doing the same proceedure - only leaving the belt unbuckled , did not work..
Any ideas?

Try this version:

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and buckle the driver's seat belt.
2. Turn the ignition key to the run position. Do not start the engine.
3. Wait for the seatbelt lamp to go out.
4. Unbuckle and buckle the seat 3 times within 10 seconds ending with the seatbelt buckled (be sure the seatbelt light cycles on/off while buckling).
5. Turn the ignition key off and a single chime will be heard to confirm the programming.

Re: WK SeatBelt Chime Disable...

Gonna have to try this out. That chime is so annoying when I'm just jumping in the WK to move it from the street to the garage.

Re: WK SeatBelt Chime Disable...

Would I do this for the passenger side too? Or does one side cover that as well?

Re: WK SeatBelt Chime Disable...

I've tried both methods of doing this (starting the engine and just turning the key to the on position) about 10 times each. It doesn't work for me . The only thing I can think of after re-reading the instructions is that they say to "turn the ignition switch to the off position" in step one. But if it's already in the off position, do I need to turn it to the ON position and then turn it to the off position before attempting? I'm pretty sure the answer to that is No, so the question is, why isn't it working for me ? Has anybody else tried this 20+ times and never gotten it to work? I'm going to video tape the procedure and post it on here if I'm the only one

EDIT: I found this in another thread "Keep in mind the seat belt chime will not sound until the car is driven for 60 seconds, so after performing the above procedure, confirm you have turned off the chime by driving the vehicle. When the chime is disabled, the seatbelt light will stay on solid if the seat belt is left unbuckled."

Is this used to disable some chime that goes off while you're driving the vehicle or is it used to disable the beeping from when you enter the vehicle and start the engine without your seat belt on? I'm trying to disable the chime that rings between starting the engine and buckling my seat belt. I couldn't care less about one that goes off every 60 seconds because I wear my seat belt everywhere.

I'm tempted to pull the fuse, but then I won't get a chime if the check engine light comes on or something like that... or probably more likely to happen, I leave my headlights on.
