Intake Manifold

Hey guys,

Kind of new at this stuff but trying to learn as much as possible and cant seem to find the answers online. Few questions for anyone who has some type of answers;

First off; I have an 05 wk limited

I got my hands on some wk srt8 parts. Im trying to do the conversion to the srt8 due to the fact i cant afford a real one yet. For little to no money i got the Intake Manifold from an 07 wk srt8 and am curious if i can swap mine for that?

I also got the whole suspension, again for little to no money and was wondering if they could be swapped as well?

Please enlighten me

Re: Intake Manifold

Welcome to the forum. The 07 WK SRT8 parts are, for the most part, interchangeable with your 05 5.7 WK. If your 5.7 is otherwise stock, you'll end up losing power by putting the 6.1 intake manifold on it though. You'll also need a port reducing spacer between the manifold and the heads because the ports on the 6.1 are bigger. The biggest choke point in the early Hemi's is the very restrictive log type exhaust manifolds and the huge muffler and resonator. Put a good set of headers with a low restriction 3 in. cat. back and you'll pick up around 30 hp with no other mods. Add a relatively mild, longer duration, high lift camshaft and you'll pick up about another 50 hp.

As far as the suspension goes, everything is pretty much bolt on interchangeable. What are the suspension components you've acquired? Did you get the Brembo brakes? Did you get the 6.1 exhaust manifolds? Any other 6.1 stuff?

IMO, unless you have deep pockets for lots of premium fuel, repairs and normal maintenance I'd recommend you stick with the 5.7 platform and modify it similar to the way I did mine.....see signature. With my mods., I've picked up nearly 100 hp., still have MDS, and get a normal 22-23 mpg on the highway. It's not quite as fast as an SRT, but pretty close, and it handles like it's on rails.
