The only thing which would make the brake pedal hard is lack of vacuum to the brake booster. A loose vacuum line can cause bad idling and loss of the vacuum booster function, so i would check that out first. A complete failure of the ABS system can never cause the brake pedal to become hard, eventhough it can cause loss of brake pressure to the wheels.
I've had an abs module fail in my old truck and the pedal got really hard.

Plus his brake issue happened the same time as all his other electrical issues. That's not a vacuum problem. There is something wrong on the electronic brake assist, which works all four wheels not just the rears.

Try this. Pull the abs fuse out and see what it does.

Re: 2002 Jeep Liberty 3.7

Does a 2002 Liberty has brake assist? It has ABS and the electrical rear brake function.
The ABS can bleed away the brake pressure for each wheel, to prevent wheel slip, but it will not add any pressure. It sounds strange that the brake pedal becomes hard when the ABS fails, but that is your experience.
But it is strange indeed that all happened at the same time.

Well if the system fails in a way that won't allow it to bleed off pressure you could get what the op is experiencing. That's why I suggested pulling the abs fuse to disable it and see what it does. If the brakes begin working as normal then we know that is the issue and it's related to the other electrical issues
