2003 Jeep Liberty Limited 3.7L overheating

My 2003 Jeep Liberty overheats only when stopped (i.e. in traffic or train crossing) but when moving, the gauge goes back down to just below 1/2). My husband has checked the fuse for the cooling fan and the coolant levels and all seem fine. Any suggestions or others having this problem?

Check your T-stat for sticking and cooling fan to ensure it is turning on.

try to clena the back of the radiator, mine was the same, in the traffic during summer was all the time overheating and i had to put the gear in N and wait...expecially with the ac on....
i also but other gauge to keep under control but is tipical of the model because the radiator is little and the one for AC is over the first one....

Hope the problem is solved, but if not or someone has the same problem, try to check if there is a dirt between fan and the cooler.

Re: 2003 Jeep Liberty Limited 3.7L overheating

Not sure if you have fixed this issue yet - but I had the same exact issue. This was an easy one and I have no clue how I didn't think of it - but the fan had stopped working all together. It was an easy switch out - though still not a cheap one! My BF replaced the fan and bingo - no more overheating!
