2004 jeep liberty trans issues HELP

I have a 04 jeep liberty 3.7 4wd i picked it up cheap changed the trans filter and fluid cause the guy said it slips Drove it around the block and going into 2-3 it slips feels like it drops into N then the codes p0733 and p1790 came up Now if i Put it into 2 IT shifts fine could it be the pressure sensor or the solonoid? because when i shift manually it shifts fine.

How was the old fluid looking? Still light red with a sweet smell, or brown/black with a burned smell?
Not that familiar with the Liberty, but when i´m not wrong, it will only shift until 2nd gear when put into 2.
Can you shift manually into 3rd gear?

Re: 2004 jeep liberty trans issues HELP

When you have the solenoid pack out, do an air check of the respective clutches. If a seal is damaged, you would discover it by doing this check. Normally when the problem would be a solenoid, you would get a message regarding this solenoid. It could however be a mechanical problem of the solenoid, ie sticking.

When replacing the PCM, the vehicle VIN and milage must be programmed into its memory. When the jeep has a sentry key, then also the SKIM secret code must be programmed into the PCM.
