2012 Liberty Heat/AC won't blow onto floor

I am a new member, and am hoping someone out there has had the same problem and was able to repair on their own. The dealership told me the blend door actuator gear was stripped, and it would cost $500 to fix. Any suggestions?

Re: 2012 Liberty Heat/AC won't blow onto floor

Welcome to the garage.
If heat will not blow onto floor, but it does on the windshield, than the blend door actuator is not the problem, but than it should be the mode door.
If indeed the problem is no heat at all, windshield nor floor, than a good change that the problem is the actuator gear. Maybe an owner with a Liberty can chime in if it is easy to repair or not.
