Held up well..

So, I got hit by a drunk driver tonight...he came FLYING around a corner, lost control, and hit me head-on. I saw it coming, hit the brakes & braced. I had been coming up to a stop sign so I was basically stopped, but he was cruising. Amazingly, there is hardly any visible damage on mine but the front end of his silverado was in rough shape. I hope he enjoys his time in jail..

Good to hear you are fine. The Jeep is secondary.

This is all I got, got dark & started raining. It doesnt look like much but we'll see. The other guy's Silverado actually looked much worse than mine.

I should add, there is definitely more damage underneath, but you can't see it unless you pop the hood or look from the bottom.

Verdict is in...$2900. I thought it was going to be much worse considering the impact.

Re: Held up well..

When my Acura was totaled (guy ran a red light -- what is it with people), I was talking to the body shop guy as I was getting my plates off. He pointed to a Liberty next to my Acura and said, "look at that -- was hit at 50mph, guy walked away, all fixable." It was in remarkable shape for having sustained a 50mph hit. Tough vehicles!

Not the first person to tell me something like that. I have a 2 yr old so it's reassuring to know it's going to protect us.

Unintended benefit #1 of this accident. I got a bad door ding last winter - body shop is giving me a good price since the other work is being done.

#2. Since the front end will be off, what better time to install HIDs? Ordered today..
