Jeep is sluggish, hesitates, pulsating?

I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty Sport with transmission 42RLE. When I drive between 30-40 mph and try to maintain a constant speed it hesitates, pulsates, sluggish, jerks, etc. I am wondering if anyone has had this same issue? What are your guesses as to what is happening and how do I fix the Problem. Just looking for some pointers. Thank you.

Welcome to the garage.
Did you check if there is any fault code stored in the PCM?
How is the transmission fluid level?
If you have a scanner which shows live data, have a look at the TPS (throttle position sensor) % during the time the problem arrises. Is the TPS % steady, or does it fluctuate a bit? If it fluctuates, I would change the TPS.

Re: Jeep is sluggish, hesitates, pulsating?

Just wondering what you found out. My 06 Liberty is doing the same thing at approx 25-30 mph. Have had it to a couple mechanics, nobody can figure it out. One mechanic put in a chemical that cleans the fuel system and it helped for about a week. I got the code u1411 (implausible fuel delivery). It is only at slow speeds, when I am maintaining the speed. When I push on the accelerator, it sputters, shimmies, feels like it might be shifting, then takes off and goes great. One mechanic told me it was the tires. Ugh

Check the Belt Tensioner. Mine was sluggish and drove like it had dirty fuel. Pulling, slipping and spluttering before getting up to speed. Changed the Tensioner and its back to normal.
