Need Help Locating Part for Liberty Renegade

Hi everyone. I know I haven't been active on the forum for some time, but I've been real busy.
Here's the thing. I need to locate a 2004 Jeep Liberty Renegade hood.
Yes, the entire hood. It has to be in good shape, no dents or major scratches, and it has to be silver.
This is my wife's daily driver and the hood is pealing off. I don't know what the hell is happening, but the rest of the paint is perfect, just the hood.
I've checked with local body shops and to repaint it would run me $500-$800.
I know there's some of you that may know someone who may have one for sale.
My budget is a bit tight at $250 I know, but if there is anyone out there who can find one, please get in touch with me.
I can provide the exact paint code if need be, but silver is a tough one, I know...
Besides, my wife is pregnant and she's due any day now (our first baby) and I wish I could get the hood fixed up for her as a surprise. If you guys can come up with any other ideas, suggestions, I'm an open book at this point.
I just can't justify paying full price to get it painted.
I will try to update this post later on with pictures of the current hood. Yuk!

Re: Need Help Locating Part for Liberty Renegade

The hood is the same for all KJs from 2002-2007 with the exception of 2005-2006 Renegades and Rocky Mountain Editions. It doesn't specifically HAVE to be for a 2004 and Bright Silver Metallic ran all the way through those years.

Just saying...

A search on car-part.com brings up tons of hoods in your area and quite a few are silver.

Thank you for your reply. I'll give that site a shot.
You're correct. The hood should be the same from any Liberty from that year range you gave.

Once again, thank you.

Re: Need Help Locating Part for Liberty Renegade

I think I found a place close enough to me that I can go and take a look at the hood. That website was very helpful in finding what I need.
Now, I just want to make sure I'm not buying the wrong hood. I would hate to take your word for it and end up with a hood that doesn't fit just because I have a Renegade
So, can you pretty please confirm that my 2004 Liberty Renegade can take the hood from a regular 2004 Liberty?
I just happen to find a 2004 grade A hood, same color code and priced decently. However, it states: 2004 LIBERTY Hood 2T0.5,SLV-PS2 Exc. Renegade. Does that mean "except Renegade" ? If so, will it still fit mine?
What is the difference for 2005-2006 Renegade hoods if you don't mind me asking? I never noticed any difference...
My wife use to have a 2006 Renegade before she totaled it a few years back, so I'm just curious to what the difference might be...
Thanks again for your response !

It'll work.

2006 Renegade hood was flat, not curved. Dunno how you didn't notice that.

Thumbs up Re: Need Help Locating Part for Liberty Renegade

Marlon_JB2 I just want to thank you again for your suggestion. I ended up finding the perfect hood replacement for the Jeep.
It turned out to be the same color code and same year, grade A. $230 later, I swapped it out and junked the old one.
Looks perfect!

I am not sure if I ever paid too much attention to what the hood looked like on the 2005-2006 Renegades. Now I know... LOL

Thanks again buddy. If you're ever around my area, message me. I'll take you our for a couple of beers!
