Thumbs down new member with a liberty problem

hi
this makes the 1st jeep anything i have ever owned ,i might add i have had very few problems with it,i have had it for over a year now,go to work in it & have done several trips in it, i have no quams in going any place in it.
i really like it, recall or not ,if the engine was to blow up id probly have a new engine put in it.,just dont want to get rid of it.
what i have going on is the rear glass wont shut, the latch is in the up postion ,& wont come down so i can shut the glass ,it acts like its jammed up,it did this once before but i took a screwdriver & pop back into place ,this time it wont budge.
whoever had this before i did appently they same problem the top of the back panel is loose, cleaned all the trash, ect out of it still doing the same thing
any ideas , i need someone to tell me how to take the panel off,ect to get to fix it,from what i have seen so far , i can fix it,if somebody can point me in the right direction, thankx

Re: new member with a liberty problem

a little update here
it was getting on my nerves,so i took it to a body shop, the guy there found it had a loose conncetor where the latch was & another 1 that was there was slightly corrided.
so he cleaned it up & made sure it had a tight fit which it did, seem to be doing better a friend of mine told me to look for some sensor in the door jams see if they were dirty, which they were i cleaned the little brass rigs up with acohl ,white vineager.
seem to be doing better, but 1 of the electrical things pluged up to it seems kinda warm.
the guy at the shop says it needs to be checked back there either the latch or the sending unit or both are going bad.
what he did to it is just a tempory fix,he did tell me how to fix it if it does it again, which im pretty sure it will do it again, what ever is going on with it you hit the door lock & on the tail gate its not being told its unlocked as far as i can tell.
my friend is going to send me some other stuff to look for & do which he hasnt done that yet

Re: new member with a liberty problem

I know my glass doesn't shut if I don't press the button on the remote to unlock it. If it is opened by opening the rear swing door and not with the button on the remote then it won't close. If you stand by it and press the button on the remote, do you hear the sound of the latch opening in the rear hatch? That's all I can think of as an easy obvious thing.
