serpentine belt

hi can anyone give advice on replacing my serpentine belt on my jeep cherokee 2005 crd limited. I have bought the new belt already. The tensioner is making me think a lot. Thank you in advance.

Re: serpentine belt

Not sure if yours is the same but every vehicle that I have changed the belt on all you do is put a 3/8" square drive (male) wrench in the center of the tensioner pulley and use that as a lever to loosen the belt, then simply take the belt off.

I normally change out the tensioner itself, along with the idler pulley if you have one, as they are cheap and lubricated "for life" which is typically the same as the life of belt.

Re: serpentine belt

eh the 2.8l CRD is a bit different than normal, same basic function, but iirc the belt runs behind items... ill follow up when I can get service information.
