transfer case and front drive shaft

so i had my front drive shaft break and my transfer case blow out the other day and after listen to the manager at the shop try and ream me on price ive decided to just take care of everything myself. i plan on headin to the junkyard this weekend to find me a transfer case first. i no that i can find the same transfer case in different jeeps but not sure which ones. if any one knows what transfer case is compatible with an 02 liberty please share your knowledge. and again it is a 5 speed so im not sure if that would make any difference. not gonna lie im not the smartest about jeeps, i came straight from a honda so all the help is appreciated.

Re: transfer case and front drive shaft

its probally got nv 231 and u might check onhere if a fellow jeeper has one u can get or craigslist but if it was me id open up the transfercase and theyre very simple to break down just pay attention to how it comes apart several videos on how to it comes apart on youtube very simple in my opinion to do and be alot cheaper to fix then buying another and not too bad to pull off the jeep and reinstall hope this helps let me know u have anymore questions ur gonna need a set of large good cclip pliers

Re: transfer case and front drive shaft

Its either a NV231 (part time )or NV242 (full time and part time). You can check Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market for junk yards and prices.
