1997 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 Sport

Hi everyone, I was looking for a forum like this for a long time, I'm from Argentina (Our mother language is Spanish) so I'm not used to English Jeep name parts, so please take it easy with me, thanks!

Well, so... I own a Cherokee 1997, and the problem is that when I leave it 1 hour long or more under the Sun (30º C) the Ignition Switch won't work, or something doesn't work... I don't know what... the main screen doesn't show any info.

Any info would be great, If I didn't explian my self good enough I can get you guys a video showing what happens.

The forum is great!

Nothing happens, but if someone pushes we can manage to turn it on, if nobody pushes and the jeep was left under the sune, this happens.

Here is a video:

It could be a clutch problem ? It's weird because this only happens when left under the sun for a couple of minutes. During the night it's works perfectly.

Re: 1997 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 Sport

So i see some lights coming on on the instrument panel, so there is some live. If you switch the headlights on and try to start, do they go dim?
If they do, then it could be a battery problem.
If they don't, then i would swap the starter motor relay with an other same relay and check. If you try to start, does the starter relay make a click? If it does, i would expect the starter motor or eventual corrosion on the starter wire connections.
