1998 Cherokee won't start
I have owned a 1998 Cherokee for about six years. It has been sitting for the last three years because it started to have some issues so I purchased a new car.
Describing it is difficult, but I will try. Basically it won't start. The battery is perfectly fine and there haven't been any major problems with the engine. Before, I could get the Jeep to start by pushing the shift lever forward/wiggling it until the engine would fire, sometimes that would even work when the Jeep was in neutral. Now, I can't get it to fire no matter what I do with the shift lever.
I'm wondering if this is caused by contacts in the shifting mechanism being dirty, if it's an electrical problem, or what else it might be.
If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
