2000-01 Cherokee 4.0

I've looked around a little trying to find out the difference between the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee 2000 on 4.0 eng can Abby one here tell me what is so different between these engines.

I've got an 01 Cherokee with a blown 4.0 and I'm having a hard time finding a reasonably priced used replacement eng I keep seeing 2000 up Grand Cherokee 4.0 for sale reasonable but all the interchange info I find says they won't work why?

This is my first jeep and a daily driver not looking to mod it up but keep a good winter truck.

Thanks
Grcmnky
