AC problems in FLA

The air in my 98 cherokee classic just started blowing exclusively through the defroster no matter what position the controls are in. It still blows cold but only on the windshield, I've heard its a vacuum line, can anyone enlighten me as to how to solve this?

Re: AC problems in FLA

Welcome to the garage.
Indeed the windshield position is the position it goes to when no or not enough vacuum is present. The vacuum line normally gives problems under the hood. Not familiar with the cherokee, but the line runs somewhere from the engine airinlet or throttle body. It can be disconnected or just cracked.
