and yes the only thing that came up code wise was the tps. y cant trucks just be made the way they used to without all this computer mess????

Nowadays its almost impossible to make a car without electronics. With the help of electronics cars run leaner and better, but ofcourse everything has a downside.
I never had this type of jeep, but from my understanding there is a cable loom running in between the engine and the firewall and that it normally can rub against the cylinder head somewhere. That is the place you have to look for chaved wiring. Maybe when you start the engine the wire is not touching the engine, but when you accelerate, the engine will move a bit due to the torque, and can touch the wire bundle and cause the wire short.
