Yeah pretty big plans! I'm gonna go with 33's instead of the 31's but I was thinking about going for 5" lift and adding on to my 3.5" with front spacers and rear shackles. Not sure if it's the best idea though. Or should I just stay with the 3.5" and cut fenders for the 33's.

Re: Xj fender trimming for 3.5" lift and 31's

It's your call, is it a daily driver? If so I would keep it quasi-tucked and go with the 3.5" .. in my opinion, of course

Quasi-tucked??? Unfamiliar with that phrase. Yeah it a DD, I really wanna find another I6 and build it just for a back up, then when I get done making it nice and shinny I can really see what the current I6 can handle. I don't know. I sure have fallen head over heels for my xj.

I like the look of big wheels tucked into the fenders of a moderate lift... not too much gap between the fender and the top of the tire.

My tires and bottom fenders have about 4.5 inches between them, looks nice but I'm getting rubbing with my quick discos discoed.
